Lake Casablanca is a decent place to stay during the off-season as there are notmany locals around to disturb or disrupt your stay. Nevertheless, my wife and I made the best of the situation and tried to enjoy ourselves as much as possible. Every once in a while you see a park Ranger or game warden cite someone for a violation, but that is rare. People are allowed to do pretty much whatever they want such as block the ramp, create huge wake in the no wake zone(s) and other reckless actions. By the way, it's the same thing at the boat ramp. What's the point of having a park ranger patrolling the camping areas if they are not going to enforce park rules and regulatuons. There were also people staying (camping) at RV sites with no overnight permits. Also, the site we had was overgrown with weeds and stickers. You can only do that in person on the day of your arrival and hope that you are able to upgrade to an RV site that type of hookup. ![]() You are not allowed to reserve a site (online) that has sewer. We stayed at Lake Casablanca State Park for a two nights during June 2016. I'm just hoping that we don't have any more bad experiences. Still, this is not something I've experienced at any other state parks after many years of being a park pass holder and going to so many across the state. We have hundreds of shore birds near us, we've heard owls overnight, we were visited by numerous raccoons, and we're enjoying the nature side of the park. That said, we are in a very nice, large campsite near the lake, and it's quite peaceful. Thankfully, he looked inside before using it again! It makes you feel very unwelcome to experience this hours after setting up camp for the weekend. ![]() Worst was that my husband's coffee cup had the lid removed, was filled with dozens of dead moths, and had the lid replaced, no doubt in the hopes that he would drink it. ![]() Very annoying was finding the weekend's worth of beverages we left by the picnic table were opened and spilled all over the ground. The least problematic was that the electric was turned off. We came back to find our mostly empty campsite had been tampered with. ![]() I had read a review to watch for criminal activity (thank you reviewer!) so at least we had most things in my car when we left for a couple of hours. ![]()
